Why do you work in the Health and Social Care sector?
Anglian care is a family run local care company. My dad is the person who owns it, our journey started off when we wanted to care for my great-grandma when she got ill. It's nice knowing you can trust the care team to provide services to your loved ones when it comes to the end of their life. That's the motivation for us to keep expanding.
What is your overall experience with violence?
Violence - it happens, it's sparse, it is infrequent but when it does happen, it affects our care team. These are the amazing people who are going out doing this every day for others, it's shocking and it's not the appreciation we should be having for social care and the people in our community that look after the most vulnerable.
Have you or a member of your staff ever been attacked?
I've not experienced any violence personally, but I know some people who have - they deal with it fantastically. We ensure the safety of our care team, we react quickly and we approach things in a measured way.
Through the support of Anglian Care we are able to act accordingly and ensure there is a positive outcome for our care team member.

About the #Every30Minutes Campaign
On average, a care worker is attacked every 30 minutes in the UK. Despite this incredibly high rate of violence, and the fact that health and social care is one of the largest sectors in the UK, this is almost never talked about.
As part of our new #Every30minutes campaign, we are speaking to care workers and care organisations across the UK, to understand the level of violence in the sector, and to talk about what can be done.
